The SWDTC run a number of events, workshops and debates for students, academics and external partners. Details of these events are updated regularly on these pages. You will also find information here about conferences and events run by other organisations which may be of interest.

Advanced Training - The ESRC has now closed funding for Advanced Training Events.
ESRC Student Conferences - the ESRC works with the DTCs to organise regular student conferences, on a variety of themes such as how to make an impact with your research, writing successful funding bids and careers guidance.
ESRC Training is also available, and covers a range of issues such as media training and research seminars. More information about these can be found on the ESRC’s website.
NCRM - The National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM) is part of the ESRC’s strategy to improve research methods across the UK. NCRM builds capacity in the social science research community through training and capacity building. All SWDTC students may attend NCRM events.
Vitae - Vitae is an international programme of professional development for researchers. They run a range of courses on areas such as making the best of your research, effective presentation and leadership.
